Nurture and Fellowship Ministries

We are a family of faith! As a family, we share good conversation each week following our service of Worship.

Christ has called us to love others and we strive to do this in many ways. The elders at Knox share with the minister in reaching out to and caring for the congregation. Part of their role is to enable good communication, encourage growth in faith and offer nurture and support. Everyone at Knox is a part of an Elder group to facilitate this communication and support.

  • Prayer Chain The prayer chain was formed to help church members going through difficult times to know there are others who support them, their families, friends and people they meet. Contact the minister or church office to share your prayer requests with the prayer chain.

  • Events During the year several special events take place at Knox to give use the opportunity to spend relaxed, social time with one another and to share our hospitality with various members of the community. Examples include “The Pancake Lunch” with staff, students and children from GAP/Options next door, “A Potato Supper”, and “The Church Picnic”. Look for these events on the home page or in the coming events section of the website.

  • Coffee Hour Each Sunday after worship we enjoy a time of fellowship in our church hall. Hospitality is shared among the congregation. Tea, coffee, juice and other refreshments are offered.

  • Toonie Lunches Potluck and soup/sandwich lunches are served periodically on Sunday afternoons for any and all who would like to attend. A donation of $2.00 (a toonie) is requested to help with expenses and to support our ongoing ministry of hospitality. These meals provide an important social occasion especially for elderly and widowed folk who may only have this one outing in the week.

  • Pastoral Visiting Members of our congregation visit on a monthly basis those within our circle of care who are unable to attend regular worship and participate in the activities of the community of faith. Our minister is available any time for emergency visits and maintains pastoral contact with all associated with Knox Church.

  • Care Facility Services Our minister and church musician lead worship at Oak Bay Lodge at 2:30 pm whenever there is a fifth Sunday in the month. The minister also leads worship at The Cedars every other month at 10:30 am. Anyone in the congregation is welcome to join in these services at any time. Contact the church office for details
