Educational Ministries
|
| Our church offers a variety of Christian
education programs for all ages as we seek to know God's truth and
equip ourselves for dynamic Christian living.
In addition to program opportunities, we have a church library
located in our lounge. This growing resource contains many books,
videos, and CDs addressing the spiritual, meditative, and educational
needs of adults and children. It is continually updated with new
materials as they become available.

- Church School provides a meaningful program for any and
all children aged 3 to 13 in attendance at Knox. We use a
curriculum entitled "SEASONS OF THE SPIRIT". Youth and
young adults attend the worship service and make meaningful
contributions through drama, readings and music. Contact the
church office for more details about church school.
- Scripture Chat is an opportunity to meet informally for a
discussion of the readings planned for upcoming Sunday services.
This is a free, drop in study that is organized on an ad hoc
basis. Current times will be noted on our monthly
calendar.
- Study Groups meet at various times during the year.
Sessions are usually 4 to 6 weeks in length. Study times may be in
the morning, afternoon or evening. Newcomers are always welcome to
drop in and participate. Check out the homepage for current study
opportunities.
- Advent and Lenten devotional resources for adults, youth
and families are available at no charge during the seasons of Lent
and Advent. Drop in during office hours or worship times to browse
and make your selections. You are encouraged to use these
materials on your own or come together in small groups to discuss,
share and support one another in your spiritual journey.
- Membership Classes are formed on an as needed basis.
Please contact our minister if you are curious about what you
might learn in this sort of class.
- Spiritual Reading (Lectio Divina) is a method of praying
the scriptures that has been around for a long time. It aims at
giving an awareness of God's presence through a fourfold process,
lectio, meditatio, oratio, and contemplatio. Lectio is receiving
the word of God, meditatio, allowing the Word to be present in the
awareness – giving rise to oratio, prayer, and contemplatio,
resting in the presence of God. If you are interested in pursuing
this spiritual discipline please contact our
minister.
